All of our dearly departed rockers aren't readily available for a memorial visit.  Cremation is a common option, with ashes scattered all over the world.  Yoko Ono says she gave John Lennon's ashes to family, or a friend, although some insists she spread them over the Lennon memorial, Strawberry Fields, in Central Park.  His old Beatles' bandmate, George Harrison, was cremated with his ashes spread in India's Ganges River.  That's also where half of the ashes of Jerry Garcia were spread, with the other half being tossed below San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.  Janis Joplin, Warren Zevon, and ex-Beach Boy Dennis Wilson all had their ashes tossed into the Pacific Ocean.  The family of Kurt Cobain spread his in the Wiskah River in Washington State, while the family of Creedence Clearwater Revival member Tom Fogerty still has his remains.  Queen's Freddie Mercury  had his ashes spread over Lake Geneva in Switzerland.   But there are plenty of rock n' roll legends lying six feet under.  Sure, you want to go and pay your respects, but you don't have time to travel the world.  No problem!  It's almost like we've exhumed the corpses and reburied them all here, which is a heckuva lot more convenient, don't you think?

 (Thin Lizzy) Died of a drug overdose on 1/4/86.  Buried in St. Fintan's Cemetary, Sutton, Dupblin, Ireland

 Died of brain cancer on 5/11/82.  Buried in the Bob Marley Mausoleum, Nine Mile, Jamaica

(Grateful Dead) Died of a gastrointestinal hemorrage related to alcoholism. Buried in Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, CA

  (The Who) Overdosed on medication prescribed to treat alcoholism on 9/7/78.  Ashes buried at Golders Green Crematorium, London

 (The Doors) Official cause of death listed as heart failure but no autopsy was conducted, 7/31/71. Buried at Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise, Paris, France.

 Died of congestive heart failure brought on by drug abuse on 8/16/77. Buried at Graceland in Memphis, TN

 (Ozzy Osbourne)  Died in a plane crash on 3/19/82.  Buried in Mountain View Cemetary, San Bernadino, CA&

 (AC/DC) Asphixiated on his own vomit on 2/19/80.  Buried in Fremantle Cemetary, Fremantle, Western Australia.

 (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Died in a plane crash on 10/20/77.  Buried at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Orange Park, FL  

Due to vandalism on 6/29/00, Van Zant's remains were moved to an underground vault in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetary in Jacksonville, FL

Died in a helicopter crash on 8/27/90.  Buried in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX

Died of prostate cancer on 12/4/93.  Buried in an unmarked grave in Westwood Memorial Park, Los Angeles, CA
